I told an armchair historian that the allies didn't declare war upon germany because of Germanies invasion of Poland.

Of course at first he was flabbergasted and in denial.

But I calmly pointed out that two nations invaded Poland. One was declared war upon and the other aided.

Ergo the only logical explanation was that the allies desired war with Germany and Poland was setup to instigate war in order to gain a casus belli that could convince unwilling westerners that the war was necessary and just.

My God the shocking recognition was profound in that man.

Lenin, Trotsky, Churchill, FDR, and Truman were freemasons. Maybe (probably) AH as well since the progression was Prussian Grand Lodge> Thule Society> NSDAP if not many of the high ranking officers certainly were.
