It can be a bit pissy at times, but it's pretty stable once running. I've got a generic-Pi-like computer set up as a downloader, it's handling 3 streams no problem.
Great idea. My brother is buying a strip/reel of raspberry pis, and I would love to be able to try to get a few & set some of them up to do small specific functions like that.
You can change the URL to a normal one, then it should work with everything.
Sometimes yt downloaders add metadata and other tracking info to your downloads.
I recommend using VLC to download through the encoding link.
