As a construction worker who works with power tools every day, it's obvious that the companies all collude to make some tools better than each other so us consooooomers are forced to buy into each battery platform.
Milwaukee makes a great nail gun, but their drill is dog shit. DeWalt makes a good sawzall, but drop the impact driver once and say hello to your new fucked up chuck.
Yep. That was partially my point. You probably know this, but for the sake of this thread: Most major brands are made by a few major OEMs.
Stanley: Acquired and builds DeWalt, Craftsman, and Black and Decker. Stanley tools are the shittiest of the shit. Their "pro tier" brands retain the premium price with crap build quality that flat out disrespects their lineage. B&D needs no mention.
Chervon: Makes Kobalt, Skil, Flex, and some others.
TTI: Makes Milwaukee, Rigid, and Ryobi. Maybe Porter Cable as well, not sure.
I avoid Stanley tools like the plague if it can be helped.
So basically everything sucks, right? Except like Bosch?
Not necessarily. Out of the above OEMs, I like most brands that Chervon and TTI manufacture, and think they generally put out some decent tools.
Just pointing out some tool trivia.
