Same, I have two dozen Dewalt 20v tools, and a weed-whacker that uses the same battery. Takes me 20 minutes to 'mow' the yard.
Nice. DeWalt is what I grew up with. Living overseas I had to switch to Makita. Still good quality. Lawn mower, weed whacker, drill, etc. They have me sold.
DeWalt is mostly overpriced big box shit now. They still make some good stuff but the value isn't there. I'm partial to Milwaukee, Makita, Hitachi, Delta, and Echo, depending on which tool. For in house brands, Lowes' Kobalt 24v power tools are really quite good and underrated, IMO.
Personally, I'd choose modern Ryobi over modern Dewalt any day.
As a construction worker who works with power tools every day, it's obvious that the companies all collude to make some tools better than each other so us consooooomers are forced to buy into each battery platform.
Milwaukee makes a great nail gun, but their drill is dog shit. DeWalt makes a good sawzall, but drop the impact driver once and say hello to your new fucked up chuck.
Just don't buy the 20v vacuum, I returned that weak shit the next day.
