I am full blooded Italian, more specifically Zenese, I can trace my ancestry back nearly five hundred years, I can say my ancestors are white. We are recently "Italian" before that we were Genoese, French, Austrian, Roman, Etruscan, Villanovan and Liguriani. If you married outside the region, defined by language, it was frowned upon, unless you were of noble blood and it advanced the state.I speak Italian, Zenese, and English fluently, I can read French and Spanish because of the "dialect." I am proud to have been born in America and will fight for it, but I will not forget where my ancestors came from, nor will I sit silent while some mongel, bad mouths it.
