Very people can store enough food for more than a month or even a week.

So what can be grown in the smallest amount of space to be self sustaining?

Potatoes in barrels? Vertical hydro phonics? What plants?Tilapia farming in crates?

Egg laying chickens? Meat chickens?

Beans? The dreaded bugs?

What?

No we aren't talking people with a few acres. I mean people who have to go victory garden style in 1/4 acre or less.

Let's say shit was going to be scarce for 2 years.

I'm working on an aquaponics system currently for me and my family. I'm waiting on 2 250gal tanks/pools to arrive. I'm putting catfish in one(already have a 150 gal with tilapia). The second one arriving, I'm considering freshwater shrimp. I've never raised shrimp but I hate paying so much money for them so it's worth a shot to me.
