I know a guy who has one and it can't cut shit, maybe his is an older model.

I made the mistake of buying an electric (battery powered) circular saw, thinking it would be more convenient than a corded saw. The thing gets the job done, but it eats batteries like mad.

I'd suggest you keep that in mind at least and maybe do some further research.

Ive looked into it a bit, but at the end of the day, online research is almost worthless. Articles are bought and paid for, and people on forums are generally idiots. And its not something for doing big logging ops or bucking up firewood, its for clearing a few blowdowns out of a road so i can get past. Worst thing that happens is im out a few hundred bucks. Im not living paycheck to paycheck.

I've used an electric Stihl and it was very good.

This is correct. <$500 and you will not fell trees like a logger, but it will delimb and get you out of a bind all day. In that context I'm happy with mine.

Get one that’s powered by 110v and get a power inverter to hook up to your car battery
