I guess voat had 2 things. Name recognition/user base and code base. You be the judge of the value of the user base. Seems like some stuck around. The code was dogshit by all accounts (I can read code, but I never chose to read the voat base). I don't really see the point of using it after OG voat shut down, though supposedly it has been improved. poal is better -- I wish everyone were here, but at the same time having a single point of failure is bad . I'm glad poal survived the takedown attempt.
