I agree with you but instead of a tropical paradise I'm thinking Northern Canada. Still plenty of resources minus the natural disasters. Also there are natural ways to heat up a house but not to cool it down.

Ok, that's another side if it, but I've lived in N. Canada, it's fucking cold and mosquitoes galore in summer.
