They are both of that. I built tables, chairs, chests, gunstocks, tool handles, bookcases and all kinds of shit with mine. A lot of it the bedroom of a condo. It’s a good starter machine. If I have any complaints about it other than that POS bandsaw (which may be better now, idk), it is that it’s kinda like Apple with their proprietary shit on some of it which isn’t cheap. There are makers now though that have whatnot to adapt to Shopsmith so not as bad as it used to be. After 40+ years I still have mine and it works just fine when I need it to.
