i've been looking for a church to join but decided to pursue mormonism instead because i think they have better values than standard christianity. i dont know if i can truely have real "faith" as they want me too because i know too much, but i think being in their ranks is better than standing alone.
what are your thoughts and advice to people who are looking to join the ward
Honestly, do it. Especially if you aren't in a globohomo major city. 5 dudes could subvert and probably control an entire ward. And most of the people are more aligned with you than you'd think. The perceived piety in Mormons is just a social shame vector.
It's centralized nature is fascistic, and it's atomized micro scale ward structure is NatSoc.
All religion is about the fruits that it nets. True believers are just useful good hearted idiots.
I live in a very deluded and blue state in the USA. That is part of why i have to go to such extreme means to get back in touch with socializing with people. I used to work in large teams of people and now im getting cabin fever something fierce and this kid of mine needs to have a structured social atmosphere to grow up in, he's just a wee babe and i dont want him growing up to be as socially retarded as i was. I'm huge into fantasy, lore and sci fi, and i like mormonism (So far) because to me it makes sense that jesus didnt stop his work after his resurrection, and it really doesnt matter if any of it is true or not. It's very nastalgic and enlightening to go over the bible and its fun and new to go over the book of mormon. Its actually amazing, the bible and book of mormon so far are pretty anti semetic.
ive been meeting with some missionaries every week to do like a bible study and its pretty great. i asked one guy after hearing about how aweful some of the tribes of isreal were when they stopped being evil, and he wasnt sure other than he knows the tribes arent evil anymore. I asked if it was common for the Head Hancho mormon guy to be chosen from one of the tribes of isreal and he said that theyre almost exclusively picked from them which is super sus to me.
i do believe in a God, but i also believe God uses evolution as his paintbrush for sentient life.
is there anything youd like to inform someone whos thinking about getting into the religion? what are some pitfalls noobies fall into. what are the lies devote members tell themselves and how can i talk around the illusion spell they are under? what caused you to finally walk away from the church/ward? What are some things we can say and questions we can ask that would effectively red pill a member?
I'm making a mom friend there but i feel terrible at knowing how to get along with her even though we get along quite well.
sorry for the long speel heh
Possibly, depends on location. Utards can be a little sanctimonious. But a lot of non-Utah Mormons can be chill. The Jack Mormons (those that drink behind the curtain) can be fun as well. It really depends. The best of both worlds is having a wife that's Mormon and remaining a non member imo.
Do what makes you happy though. I just can't get behind giving away 10% of my income to the church. Or believing that ancient Israelites came to the Americas split into 2 warring factions. Where one side was evil and turned into Indians and the other side remained white. And eventually the white Indians turned more evil and were destroyed. Also don't believe that Jesus visited the Americas to proselytize after ascending to heaven.
