I voted for option one because I have self respect and don't depend on the respect of others. It's nice, but I don't live for it. I try to live a respectable life and treat others correctly, and if people respect me that's cool.

I'm not some nigger that demands that people respect me, then has none for anyone else. What say should I have over other people's feelings?

If you live for other people's respect you are fragile. If you live to be a good person without an interest in chasing reputation, now respect is earned.
