High fevers will make you hallucinate no matter the cause.
You said it with your first sentence. Your father got sick. People have been getting sick from the dawn of time. People absolutely can be disoriented and hallucinate from high fevers. This also has been happening from the beginning of life itself. There is nothing unusual or special going on. Your father has caught what forever has been labeled the flu, or has a infection. That said , hope he feels better and wish a quick recovery. P.S. turn off your TV
Is this a Reddit thread?
Yes, fever and hallucinations happened to me and I didn't even have it that bad.
What did he hallucinate?
Never went above 102, but had some crazy dreams the first night
The first time I had Covid, I had only a moderate fever for a couple of days. Nothing exciting. The second time I got the Omicron strain and didn't get any fever at all. You will get a much higher fever with the ordinary flu than you will get with Covid.
My wife and I didn't get a fever when we had it, or if we did it wasn't bad and went away by the time we checked. We had chills for a day or so. The only strong symptoms we had were a cough and severe fatigue. Your mileage may vary.
Temporary loss of smell, or anosmia, is the main neurological symptom and one of the earliest and most commonly reported indicators of COVID-19. Studies suggest it better predicts the disease than other well-known symptoms such as fever and cough, but the underlying mechanisms for loss of smell in patients with COVID-19 have been unclear.
Yeah to the high fever. I didn't hallucinate, but different people respond to fevers differently. Make sure he's hydrated and getting electrolytes.
Honestly what got me over covid quick was zicam (nasal spray kind). The virus lives in your nose at first. You can give it no harbor with that stuff because it's full of zinc. The issue with covid is that it can travel from the nose, to throat, to lungs, based on where mucous flows to. Keep mucous from going down that path, and especially keep it flowing in the other direction in the throat. Do that by intentionally coffing even if you don't need to. That will help prevent going to the hospital and him dying from malpractice. Have him take zinc and a zinc inophore of some kind to shorten the duration. Covid is nothing serious unless it gets in your lungs. That only happens if mucous goes in the wrong direction, and only if given enough time. By shortening the duration you basically eliminate any chance of that. Vitamin D seems to be the big factor for whether or not people survive the hospital.
