I just read a poll that found that a majority of anti-gun citizens would flee the United States to another country if the US were to be invaded as the Ukraine has been by Russia. It got me to wondering, is there any way that we could get them to leave now? You know, just in case.

One thing that the current war is showing me is that modern war is death on riflemen.

Oh its been hard for a long time. Most casualties in ww1 were to artillery and infantry have exactly zero comeback against artillery.

Well its way worse now. Modern shells can kill you out in the open. In a slit trench or in a dugout or in a bunker.

Modern spotters are everywhere. Tracking you by camera from an invisible drone. Tracking you by your cell signal.

Boom incoming invisible deadly rounds or missiles. Doesn't matter how skillful a rifleman you are. Cadet or special forces. Dead with no retaliation possible.

Throw in snipers. Armoured vehicles now designed to prioritize killing infantry.

Guns aren't shit now. Better off learning to operate drones.

Drones are only "invisible" in asymmetrical warfare. If both Opponents are armed with First World weaponry, then drones stand out like sore thumbs and are easily shot down.

Ignorant take.

How are drones spotted.

By shining a large spotlight into the sky.

Oh look other drones hidden from the spotlight aka radar have now got a homing beacon to launch a missile at.

Modern war is very much imperfect rock scissors paper but rifleman are just Canon fodder

Uh, no. That's ridiculous, this isn't an old World War Two movie, and even those fuckers had some radar and observation balloons and so forth.. Drones are spotted by the massive radio signature that they exhibit, due to the high-frequency requirements of such a system. It's sending back high-definition visual data and telemetry, and that stands out like a sore thumb and can even be jammed under some circumstances.
