Berkey. Period. Works without electricity and the filters last years. Get the fluoride filter add-ons, you don't want that shit in your body.
Are the filters rated in hours? I’m all about lasting long time.. Thanks
Gallons, but they last a lot longer than listed if your water supply is already on the clean side. Look it up. By far the most economical choice.
Right, my city water is pretty clean, that helps
Zerowater.
An under the sink RO system tied directly to our fridge was the best decision we've ever made in our home.
Lots of options for around $200. You will need the pressure tank.
Don't get one with proprietary filters - that will cost you in the long run. As long as you stay away from the proprietary filter versions, the rest are all about exactly the same.
I have seen those setups at menards, thanks!
This is almost exactly what we have: https://www.menards.com/main/plumbing/water-filtration-softeners/undersink-water-filtration/omnifilter-undersink-reverse-osmosis-water-filtration-system/ro2050-s-s18/p-1461693616213-c-1535732895503.htm
It gets our TDS down to single digits (< 10 ppm) which is very cool - makes the water / ice tasteless. (From the ~500 ppm range ... we are higher than most because we are on a well.)
We change filters 1-2x / year and sanitize it every 1-2 years. Your maintenance will depend on your water source / etc.
Thanks, the replacement filters are reasonable as well. Cool
Berky is the best. Aquatrue is good from my experience but requires electric
I’ll check it thanks
When I was at Ft. Stewart the water there smelled really weird and had a grey look
Put a Brita faucet filter on there and it was fine
Make a hand pump reverse osmosis filter and set it on your counter lol
That’s why I asked, I’d be looking for something a little more finished looking. The stainless ones the e-celebs push are expensive..
