let's say that there are 100M housholds in the US, and 1% pay $10 to netflix; that is $10M/mo.

Those are numbers pulled out of my ass and is just for order of magnitude. In reality it is probably many more than 1% who subscribe, and i'm not sure what a subscription costs, but you get the idea.

It has become a fad of the day. Even in countries where they economy is far from good, netflix has become pretty common. Shops promote it for use with the smart tv sets.
