I've always struggled with plum lines and leveling and squaring off.

Anyway I bothered to learn the truckers hitch. Omfg it enabled me to make my deck recently so much more easily than any other project I'd done.

Trucker's hitch, vice versa, constrictor are my favorite non-standard knots.
