I've always struggled with plum lines and leveling and squaring off.

Anyway I bothered to learn the truckers hitch. Omfg it enabled me to make my deck recently so much more easily than any other project I'd done.

Trucker's hitch, vice versa, constrictor are my favorite non-standard knots.

. Your closest relatives's phone number. . When you go somewhere new don't rely on your GPS. Look at the map the old way. Look at the landmarks. Know how your orientation. . Your national number, your insurance number, one of your bank accounts . Have a picture of your vehicle documents and know the basics of your vehicle specs . When you meet someone new try to remember their name with a little memory trick. You make a mental connection between their name/face and something you will remember easily. For example: I meet Stephanie. In my head I tell myself : oh that's easy to remember that's like my wife's cousin that died of a horrible cancer. I always try to make the wildest connections so it sticks. The force of this method is to mindfully say : oh that's easy and then make the connection.

This works had a rental company try to scam me for repairs. Took photos of the vehicle with all the dents etc. Made the reluctant rental guy walk out to the car with me take his own pictures and document that he said I was OK to take the car. Got the guys name. Returned it at a different airport. Return guys like whoaaa what's with all the damage?! I said rental guy at previous airport signed off and documented it. "Mysteriously" they couldn't find any documentation. Good thing I took pictures and video of the guy agreeing to me taking the car with damage. Amazingly coincidentally as soon as I showed video and picture evidence I was dismissed of causing the damage. 🙄

The Holy Bible. Everything else is ultimately worthless in comparison.

This world is temporal and will ultimately pass away, but the Word of God is eternal.

The US highway system numbers will tell you exactly where you are at all times and you can travel easily.

And I don't just mean interstates.

Interstates are monitored heavily and you can be caught easily.

Highways are the real way to travel America.

It would actually be good to know that temperatures and the amount of time that different foods need to be cooked at to be decontaminated. As well as how long you have to boil water to decontaminate it. How much bleach you need to use to decontaminate water. I once heard that if you had a gallon jug and you put a little bleach in it and you switched it around and you opened it and dumped all the bleach out that the amount of bleach that was left that just clung to the walls was just the right amount to decontaminate that gallon of water. But of course those things take time so you don't just put the water in and drink it right away you got to let the chlorine kill it kill the bacteria and that takes a little time so it'd be good to know how long that is.

Otherwise quite frankly I think you need to have some paper books hopefully on some paper that won't deteriorate but at least in some plastic bags that won't get wet and they should be things about how to farm and when to plant and how to choose good land and how to run the water irrigation and you know how to prepare food that doesn't need refrigeration and how to how to make a trap and how to make a knot and just some stuff like that how to work some metal how to melt some metal how to make ceramic bowls and stuff which is really a simple thing to do once you know how to do it and if you can make your own ceramic bowls and ceramic shingles and tiles and things like that you're a long way toward getting right back to the to the modern century in terms of having what you need to survive.

I'm working on learning a foreign language. Lots of stuff to memorize. History is important to know. Literature is surprisingly important, which most people don't understand. The great literature of the past is a time ship that lets us understand how our forefathers thought about various social issues. Through literature we can get inside their heads and understand them in a way that nothing else allows.

Knowing two words for elephant doesn't help you at all when you share a single know word with everyone around you.

Multi language is inefficient double handling
