Japan is controlled. They don't trust China and see Russia as weak. The bad blood between China and Japan runs deep.

Russia declared war on Japan after ther the first atomic bomb was dropped.

China and Russia both currently have territorial desputes with Japan.

Chinese hate the Japanese for past war crimes.

so, that wouldn't go so well for the Japanese.

Japan wants American military around, and pays 75% off the cost to have them there. from the Japanese point of view, that's a discounted economic boost to the areas that have bases as well.

so, I don't see it happening.
