Du er ikke glad med Duo.
You learn the language by continuing lessons. I can have basic convos about food, animals, work, clothes, family, actions, possessions. Started about two months ago for fun, but don't study it religiously. It really isn't that hard to grasp a language. Only need to understand 3,000 words or so and you can get through most day-to-day convos.
The point is to expose yourself to it. Watch shows, continue your lessons, and done. Duolingos virtue signaling is bullshit, but you can learn a language on it just fine.
Ja, det är ju sant. Har aldrig gillat Duolingo alls eftersom de har för mycket SJW-grejer på det. (I understood your first sentence by virtue of the fact I learned a similar language haha - hence the response I wrote - you are right that I'm not happy with it).
I prefer Clozemaster for learning the basics, because you learn context better than "The dog eats the apple" being repeated a million times. The best way to learn a language is to have a native speaker who bans you from using English once you know the basics - it sticks better because the conversations are relevant to you.
