Keto is easy as fuck to do and anyone hating on it as an effective weight loss method is a fucking kike. They say true ketoacidosis is hard on your organs, but so is being overweight. Can you take control of the food in your house and what gets eaten?
Keto is not ketoacidosis. Ketoacidosis is when Type I diabetics (not the fat people kind) have prolonged lack of insulin and elevated blood glucose. You can't get ketoacidosis from a keto diet unless you have some sort of organ failure. You're thinking of ketosis.
The hardest part of keto is while your body adjusts to switching from burning sugar for fuel to burning fat for fuel. It's not always an easy transition, and people can feel tired and even sick during the process. That's why they call it the keto flu.

I forget that I’m not meal stocking (or giving her the grocery list) for 2 now. So starting last grocery run I told her not to get any junk, if we wanted something sweet she had to bake it at home using natural sugarless sweetener, and salads go with 2/3 meals.
Still getting used to the married thing. She’s been great so far and it’s only been less than a week.
I'm a big supporter of keto BUT it's a PITA to maintain. As good as and much more realistic is to stick with a low carb diet, ie. < 30 g carbs a day. The weight stays off, you never have sugar cravings, and when you're out for dinner and want to enjoy pizza and a beer with the rest of the gang it's not a big deal.
If OP's wife was a 300 pd junk food addict then I would be pushing keto. But on low carb she'll drop those 15 pounds in no time, and keep them off. That's one of the really great things about low carb: It quickly becomes self-reinforcing.
Interestingly the original keto research done on the Inuit in the early 1900s found that they would constantly slip in and out of ketosis. This was when they were still on their traditional diet.
