Why not karate and taekwondo? There are a ton of McDojos, and they're in the worlds of MMA, Muay Thai, and Jiu Jitsu (BJJ or other).
Most MMA schools don't teach you how to fight - they teach you how to win against one person in the ring via points or via tap. That's not real fighting. Real fighting is one person against a group, real fighting is doing whatever you need to end the threat. You don't get to tap out in a real fight.
That being said - some legit schools do teach real martial arts to kids, and I actually was an instructor for a kid who was bullied, stood up for himself, and got out of the fight okay. Got suspended, but his parents were solid people and supported him. I can tell you, him sticking up for himself and fighting back was 25% training and 75% the fact that he knew his parents had his back.
As for that video? Had that group of whites attacked, the whites would have gotten in trouble. We do not have supportive parents who have our back.
Take a look at the first UFC championship fight where they didn’t know which martial arts beat out which so they allowed masters from all to participate. See what happens to the karate master after like 3 seconds after it took to close the gap.
