If it’s been a while or if your job description has changed and you’ve taken on more work successfully, (and if the company is making money or at least breaking even) don’t hesitate to ask. Prepare your statement of fact and present it at your next good opportunity. Don’t make my mistake and wait for months to prepare some long drawn out speech. If they value you, and I’m sure they do, mostly for your poetic talent, they will agree to a raise post haste. Good employees are hard to find and keep.
