I wouldn’t even negotiate, I’d just leave.

In my field if they hire you in at a certain price and they see you at that value no matter what. Unless somehow your duties changed and you’re taking on people under you or taking “ownership” of “products” or now leading major new projects when you weren’t before.

Maybe my wage could legit go out of sync with the current rate and my years of experience alone allowed the raise without new responsibility.

However also in my field raises mean more expectation of work. Sorry I work 9-5 so please fuck off. I didn’t get 10 years of experience and college independently just to work like a slave all hours of the day.

The real “raise question” would be if I will / was willing to stay for a raise if they offered it with my notice.
