Laundry detergent is still mostly fillers (by design, detergent can be corrosive in a purer form.) You can probably cut way back on what you use without noticeable effect. It just takes some experimentation to determine what works best for how dirty your clothes get.
I've found that, working in a clean-ish environment, I can usually get away with about two tablespoons of liquid per load.
Unfortunately for me when I wash my clothes they are usually beyond dirty. And then I have to use a laundromat so what goes in before mine is usually feces/piss covered. various forms of cum/semen and probably meth powder. So I can't go light on the detergent.
hooboy, yeah. My advice should be thrown in the trash for your situation.
