They would be on a piece of faux parchment or parchment colored paper and generally showed the town (at the time of drawing) in a somewhat exaggerated way with local businesses and landmarks featured on the map. They weren't meant for navigation, but were more of a novelty thing. I see them at times but I can't find an exact name. I'd like to find one for the area where I grew up, but I can't pinpoint what to search for.
