I've thought about this a lot. Using the Bible as an example, where is the structure for what a "church community" described and laid out? Where does it say "There will be a preacher, and a power structure of the greatest priests. They will preach in churches, gilded with gold and incredible artworks. A depiction of the Christ will hang over the entire scene." You know what that last sentence really sounds like? IDOLATRY. You know what following the words of a man who claims to have a closer connection to God than you sounds like? HERESY.

Is the word "pope" or "bishop" or anything similar even used in the Bible? Did Jesus lay out this plan for how his faith was to be conducted? No, he didn't- his view on spiritualism was very minimalistic, very personal, likely influenced mostly by John the Baptists' teachings. Where did John do his thing? In a massive, expensive temple? Nope- he did his thing on the beach. I would argue that he was closer to the divine than a priest in a golden temple standing upon a pulpit with an image of a dead Jesus as a backdrop.
