I was never under the impression that ISIS or ISIL controlled territory or resources. My understanding is that they were rogue groups who lived mostly off the grid and fought guerilla style warfare and beheaded people on live video feeds. In fact I’m pretty sure that’s what everyone thought, because that’s all they were ever portrayed to be. You’re trying really hard to turn nothing into something.
