Gnostic. It's a form of Christianity. We Gnostics believe that Jesus was just a man, but a man infused with the Son of God, which possessed Jesus during his life. We believe matter is evil, and therefore we don't accept the tenet that Christians will rise from their tombs in their earthly bodies of flesh and be reborn. We believe that after death we leave these bodies of clay and ascent to the Pleroma (the realm of higher spiritual intelligences) provided we have obtained spiritual knowledge during this life. We believe that the god of the Old Testament is evil, or at least ignorant of the good. Mankind was liberated from this false god's prison of ignorance by the Christ, which descended in the form of a serpent to liberate humanity from our chains of ignorance by giving us the gift of attaining gnosis (spiritual knowledge). The Christ descended a second time into the body of the man Jesus to show us the way to gnosis, which not every man can attain.
