Deprogramming the NPCs will take time, and at the individual level
These are the exact parameters we want to tune, so it becomes a funnel, where we're no longer working at the individual layer, spending huge resources to deprogram people slowly over time.
What we want is techniques and methods that are
- fast
- cheap
- easily replicable by competent people
- if not simple, at least straight forward
- self-replicating if possible
- self-reinforcing
- affect multiple people instead of the existing serial process.
It's about scale and turn-over time.
IMO the best way to deprogram is to make NPCs want to be deprogrammed.
I am definitely interested in hearing more of your thoughts on this. Absolutely please do elaborate if or when you get more time.
What you're saying is curiosity and the desire to change are two powerful motivators?
You will have drop redpills and truth slowly enough for them to consume and they have to be validated through their own observations.
This is the old model. What I'm after is a new model.
For example people were talking about informing others and redpilling a while back, and I had a realization: The reason cognitive dissonance fails so often as a mechanism, is because theres a new defense layer built on top of that:
The sloganeering reflex. (or whatever you'd like to call it).
Think "diversity is our strength!"
"trust the science, bigot!"
Etc.
Once I realized that, it became obvious we weren't having more cogdis episodes when people were exposed to new information, because this secondary layer was blocking that function.
And by targeting and breaking that layer, we can get back to information having a useful effect on people.
But this is what I'm talking about: the old models don't work. Aren't fast enough. Aren't efficient.
And I don't think the limits that exist now ("must be slow", "must be one on one", "must be done in layers") are actual limits, but rather a lack of innovation on understanding, techniques, and methodology.
