For a couple years, I could use a workaround on VLC (open stream --> view codec source, copy+paste into browser, download).

VLC player can do it. Also, newpipe mobile app.

That's what I used to use (not sure if you read the text inside the post), but it stopped working. Granted, I keep ignoring the prompt to update VLC...
