I just ate garlic raw for the first time in my life, just like you said to, chewing it into a paste and swallowing it in parts. I must say it's got to be one of the most unpleasant things I've eaten in a long time. It must take some getting used to, or my garlics aren't built the same way as your garlics, because that was honestly the worst I thought I was gonna throw up. The science seems solid, but I can't get over that raw taste it's just nope.
lol, yeah it's rough. I think depending on ripeness some cloves burn more as you chew them than others. This is mostly a constant issue no matter how used to it you are but it becomes easier to tolerate. The other part is once it hits your stomach it can be VERY uncomfortable for about 30min. This does get better as you get more used to it.
I have to say I'm impressed at your willingness to try something new. But I know exactly what you went through.
I would personally used a garlic press and then consume it
