I think it might be similar to how everyone was talking about Indians all over the media and saying what great programmers they were and the public lapped it up but speak to anyone working in the industry and they regularly refer to them as 'pajeets' that write spaghetti code. Why would the media want to paint Nigerians as a nation of intellectuals and scientists worthy of our attention, you ask? Does it have anything to do Nigeria's equatorial situation on the planet that makes it the ideal space port for all future private and public manned missions into orbit, Mars and beyond?
