It's a little more expensive than the previous host, but the VPS runs way smoother and it shows now.
It seems like the previous host was throttling shared resources, but it was hard to tell since poal was running pretty nicely.
The uptime was 278 days before I pulled the plug.

Enough cost diff to run in the red?
Donations have dried up a little with the fall of crypto, but I've been told by some people seriously invested that it's gonna rise back up, so it should be ok.
In short: unless crypto completely crashes, Poal and its services (vid8, chat, mumble...) should be covered up until next year's 5th anniversary.
Its on its way up, waaayyyy too much institutional investment incoming, good and bad, they will defend it against regulations but they will also distort the market.
