If by "text" you mean SMS, then no. SMS is s compromised, in-the-clear system by default. If you want to use computer-computer communications, Tox is a multi-platform system. Bitmessage is also multi-platform, but is power hungry (works on proof-of-work submissions) and has no iOS version. Tox does, however. Signal has become better, but is still primarily phone based.
