Came here to mention pgp. It's the only way I think I could trust encrypting messages. Pretty sure you get flagged for them, though, and not entirely sure that the feds haven't broken it yet.

I use wire for text comm with my spouse. Though I consider everything is being captured…everything.

Carrier pigeons with micro sdcards . Reliable, secure, high transfer rate. But remember your computer is compromised 6 different ways all the way to the bios and chipset. If it’s newer than about 2000 it’s not likely even modifiable to be secure unless it’s air gapped. There’s even ways developed to peek into air gapped if they want to spend the resources.

If by "text" you mean SMS, then no. SMS is s compromised, in-the-clear system by default.
If you want to use computer-computer communications, Tox is a multi-platform system. Bitmessage is also multi-platform, but is power hungry (works on proof-of-work submissions) and has no iOS version. Tox does, however.
Signal has become better, but is still primarily phone based.
There is not even a safe operating system or safe network.
