T'was. Most people don't realize France had 400,000 casualties before the fall. The Germans just moved too fast. Had the Germans rolled up the BEF at Dunkirk ( by pushing along the beach instead of towards the water) a vstly different outcome would have been likely. The brits would have had to call in their US marker in 1940 instead of late '41.
