I did it too and its crap.
The weight distribution is absolutely shit and anything other than a straight line is dangerous.
It is impossible to ride the bike when the battery dies
The battery dies
the bike is heavy

Cut the brakes and leave it in a shitty neighborhood near a hill and heavy traffic
In hotels in NYC, the front desk agents are being instructed to not let Ebikes and electric scooters inside the property because there have been many instances of the batteries heating up to the point where they explode. Regular extinguishers do little to put it out because the metals inside burn so hot. FDNY arrives and puts them in special containment barrels with pellets that suck away all of the oxygen.
I once thought I could use my throttle to help me bring my bike up a flight of stairs and almost sent it through a glass door on my apartment building. It's comparable to a power band on a dirt bike
One time the garage was open and I was fucking around on my dirt bike. I popped a wheelie and lost control sending the bike into my roommates armoire that was sitting in the garage. Totally shattered it. She cried. Feelsbadman.jpg
Boys and their toys 🤷🏻♂️
Just ask that Louis Rossman. He's even a tech guru and his shit exploded right in his shop.
I like Rossman. He’s a real…err…Mensch.
I would tune it down to not go beyond 15-20, depending on your commute situation. They are quite deadly and not street legal for a reason.
Also, has the market advanced enough for it to not suck? Last I checked, a few companies went out of their way to ensure their garbage was proprietary and demanded you ship your hardware for any reason (including flats).
I figure a conversion with a proper kit would be ideal.
I got the Luna cycle 3000w cyclone kit (which they do not sell any more for some reason lol) and it's quite impressive. Then bought 72 volt Li battery from a private seller who builds batteries. Def doesn't suck, but it is fast, and deadly
Cruise downtown, find an area rich in "Culcha", then yell and crank it open.
"...nnnnnnnNNNNNIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGGGGGGGEEEEEeeeeeeerrrrrrrssss!..."
By far the best idea
Set it up to come apart at 40 mph. Then leave it where you know it will get stolen. Stake it out, and record the shenanigans.
Trade it for a real motorcycle. It sounds super dangerous. That thing was never designed to go that fast.
I think the answer is the same as "What would you do with giant pile of cocaine?"
...except please vid the ebike adventure for all, Evel.
I did the same thing. So far I have broken 3 frames just from riding fast. 2 heavy beach cruisers and one full suspension mountain bike. I'll probably get something like this next.
US $455.67 17%OFF | US free shipping Enduro Ebike Frame, Black Electric Frame for 3000W/5000W/8000W Motor Electric Bicycle Waterproof Inside Battery https://a.aliexpress.com/_mqSgpu4
I got a conversion kit from Luna cycle. So far my frame has held up. I'm so scared of the bike I only use the motor to go up hill now. My cousin told me I can install a pedal assist sensor and brake cut off switches to make it safer and the battery last over 100 miles
I would NOT go fifty mph on a bicycle. You could quite easily die if you crashed, and you could quite easily crash if any one of hundreds of small things go wrong.
You sound like you already realize this. But I just wanted to add my own witness to it.
Enjoy brother. Ebikes are awesome.
I started the project in a time of my life when I was a raging alcoholic. I had little to care for and nothing to lose. Was hitting 30-40 mph on my longboard weekly and that was getting boring, wanted a new challenge and rush that I built myself to feel like the smart mechanical inclined man I was before being a worthless alcoholic. Found the light again, have a wife and kid on the way. And now I have a death trap that was supposed to put me i my coffin doing what I love, and I don't want that to be the end to my story any more
Laugh at it as i twist my throttle and blat past...
