I refused it multiple times now. Still in the service but I have to admit the psychological warfare sure takes its toll on you. If they just said 'K, You're Out' after the first time then whatever but being sent everywhere to justify yourself all the time, general hazing and not knowing if you can even leave the country soon keeps me up at night.

What are those of you who refused it doing now and what awaited you?

Yeah. At least you have that to fall back on. I'd probably be starting my career from square one, although I'd imagine I'd be more desirable than a 19 year old. Still, 10 years of service is not something I want to squander.

13 years is a long time to be in the civilian world before going military. Why'd you make the jump?

I'm obviously retarded haha. It's something I always wanted to do, but due to growing up in 2 different countries (and now living in my third), I was always torn back and forth. So before I was too old I decided to give it a go and signed up. I actually tried out for SF when I was younger but didn't make the cut and it was an overall shit experience so that put me off for a long time as well. Plus just getting in took 1.5 years cause I wanted the specific position I have now, so I had to wait until a spot was open (infantry but stationed outside of my home country). PS: I'm in Europe not US military
