There are several towns for sale in the US.

Once you buy a space, you can decide who gets to live there.

I cant afford the $ to buy one for myself or i would already own my own town.

All of them that I have seen for sale. Need a lot of work. They arent really capable of supporting themselves with only a few people.

I see this proposed often. What you need is a rich person to buy a bunch of land. but usually by the time someone does this they think to themselves.

Yes, not In the US. Federal laws apply. However there are options, some countries let you create your own autonomous gov and society if you buy enough land, you get treated like your own little country. Then there is wilder options like buying your own aircraft carrier and declaring it a sovereign country. Pricey but possible.

What about buying an old oil tanker? Like water world you would at least have ta way to store oil for energy then work on converting the rest to farming and living? Just a wild idea

You can, it’s a major retrofit tho. The aircraft carrier has its own everything built in including an airstrip, necessary when every country won’t let you dock… also has a means of self defense.
