I think there will a parallel network. I'm actually designing a data center in a box that would work well for this concept. It's based on RP4 servers running Apache, Nginx, and .Net servers. Built in load balancer, etc. I will publish a full tutorial on how to build this in detail. I'm still in the design phase so it's too early for details. My prototype is looking good so far. I'm hoping the BOM will come in around $600 or so. I think the cabinet may be expensive, though. The idea is to make this cheap and self contained. You plug it in or run on battery/solar. It can be a mesh WIFi access point. It can take any WAN RJ45 or Cell signal. Then, many clients can connect to it. Ultimately, other data centers in a box can also get on the network and scale this up.
