JFK was a democrat who got a lot of republicans to vote for him instead of Nixon in 1960. --there is no way of knowing for sure, however Eisenhower and JFK were ostensibly the last presidents who at least gave the appearance of serving the interest of the people (Trump is a "possible" exception as well) --as evidenced by Ike's "military industrial complex" speech and JFK's "secret societies" speech. (He was a kind of a POS though, think Marilyn Monroe.)
