Biden goes away at the end of 22. They need the 2 years. With that 2 years, their only option is to install Kamala. They cannot "install" someone else, unless the laws are changed before then, or they remove her.

However, installing her... Then she can serve for a full 10 years as allowed by The Constitution. Giving an entire decade of socialist presidency. By then, the US will be Kazakhstan or Australia (as both stand 1/2022).
