yup, pulled over because I *resembled someone who ran from the cops* (PG county MD, fucking shithole)... turned out I had a FTA warrant over some traffic shit I hired a lawyer to take care of. The funny part was that my left wrist was in a cast, so they couldn't cuff that arm, so one arm behind my back cuffed to a belt loop, other arm tucked into the seatbelt. spent 7 days in county (picked up Friday at about 4pm), never did get to go to court but they kicked me out at like 8pm the next Friday. Still a huge fucking mess of legal shit, but being the dumbass I was, I put it off for ~8 years (got the fuck out of MD, eventually couldn't get a legal drivers license and wanted to stop driving without a license.. plus, married by then and wife wanted better for me), then hired another lawyer and everything was dismissed because the original officer was no longer employed. Still hate my dad for not teaching me about having insurance or how to title and register a vehicle. He was a god damn insurance salesman and NEVER taught me any of that. Would have been a simple 5mph over speeding ticket if the rest of the paperwork was in order. So parents, teach your kids everything you do within a calendar year (taxes, investing, insurance, vehicle paperwork and maintenance, whatever)... if YOU have to take care of it, they will too and won't know how unless you teach them.
