So basically because they were in a situation where thwy couldn't clean their dick it was better if they had their pens mutilated as a baby, just in case they went to war one day. Got it.

You are absolutely correct. Many people live just fine in the jungle. Only US military and US GIs can screw up as bad as they did. Not surprising they lost the war given they can't even keep their own dicks clean.
