while that has been my go to answer for everything recently... i wonder how many serious studies have been done to debunk the myth that cutting your dick is somehow good.
There is a serious condition called paraphimosis which can easily occur in uncircumsized maies, and is completely prevented by circumcision. It is avoided by using normal care, but it could be used in an argument in favor of circumcision, nobody seems to ever mention it.
And if I cut off my pinky finger I can avoid getting arthritis in it.

The amount of uncircumcised males who’d need to undergo circumcision for phimosis is less than 2%. The phimosis argument is not even an argument.
They have found that making a small incision in the foreskin rather than removal of foreskin can cure phimosis. So they can no longer us this as an argument for it.

Phimosis is supposed to be treated when it occures and not preemptively. And it's a small percentage of men who really need this kind of operation anyway.
For some reason, circumcision is big business in the US. In Europe it's not, unless you are a Jew or a muslim.

I have an older friend who was a Vietnam trauma surgeon. Besides war injuries, the primary surgery he did on American GI was emergency circumcision to fix this and other jungle rot on the dick. Most GI would wait until it got 'bad' (due to embarrassment) and then it was a much more painful road to recovery.
According to him, he did 100's of these surgeries. Given that vast majority (90+%?) of US males who went into Vietnam were already circumcised, if he and the other surgeons were doing that many, one would wonder if there were many who came back uncircumcised.
From his perspective, all of this trauma was completely avoidable by a childhood circumcision.
And, to your point, after the war, no GI is going to come home and tell stories about almost loosing their dick in Vietnam from infection. So, it just doesn't get talked about.
edit: for the retards: I'm very much anti circumcision. Plenty of people live in the jungle and don't have trouble with this. Just you had American GI's without any good hygiene training living in the jungle. Only the US military can screw up and not provide dick cleaning training in basic.
They do it with their teeth.
