Even just rural cows raised in not such horrid conditions results in a better tasting cow. We purchase a half beef with my parents every year and holy fuck it makes the store-bought shit seem like fucking slop. I think some of that comes down with the butcher too and of course how much fat you put into your ground beef and another big factor is obviously the breed.

The more fat the healthier. Feed lot cow fat is not as healthy since it's full of omega-6 from the corn.
