Neither have anything to do with me, but I have heard this twice in the last couple days from old folks. They are afraid of losing Social Security and it seems like this is the point at which they'll cave. I assume about two-thirds of Poal is on Social Security, what do you think?

If they want to cancel my SS but stop taking it out of my paycheck and return my previous contributions I’m all for it.

Me as well.

Man that'd be nice.

One of those Brinks trucks flipping over in front of my house would be nice too.

FunFact: SS was originally opt-in

So was health insurance. But they tried to get rid of that. So was car insurance come to think of it.

Hell, even the IRS still describes taxes as voluntary.

They are voluntary if we make them voluntary.

Car insurance is really the only one that seems logical to be required.

Same. Going to be quite a check. I'd also like my usury charges as well. Normal average investment gains on the money for the last 30 years of having it stolen from me seems fair.

Right.
If I had all the mulah they've been stealing out of my paycheck I actually could have invested it for retirement, not the bullshit squandering of ss. Thanks LBJ for putting ss into the general fund, you absolute POS!

Become Amish, they have an exemption from social security.

I knew about that, but try to explain to a massive corporation that you’re opting out from social security. HR drones might not get it.
