They launched a Beta and it quickly became clear that the site was running a fork of Mastadon. Now Mastadon is free open source software... but team Trump had stripped out the license attribution and were not linking to source. That's right folks they stole something that was free. When the Mastadon dev team caught wind of this they were rightfully pissed and threatened team Trump with a lawsuit. Shortly after that, the public Beta was pulled down. They have, presumably, been busy writing their own software ever since in the dark.

When the Truth.social beta launched many, many people went there and saw the evidence for themselves. Unless team Trump just happened to name all of their CSS classes the exact same names as the Mastadon team, this is not really up for debate. The fact that team Trump pulled it down when they realized their fuck up speaks volumes as well.
