i would say it would make more sense to call it a case for child neglect; a child acts out for attention, when given they will pursue said attention/affection. much of child abuse is from just not listening or being involved in the child's life, i would argue that child abuse is to communism what child neglect is to socialism. a gateway drug when purely psychological is way more dangerous than any drug known to man
